Favourite Bars- MyProtein Organic Raw Bars

I am always on the lookout for new whole food, bars and snacks. While scrolling through the MyProtein website, trying to take advantage of the offers and discounts they always have, I decided to check out their vegan bars and snacks. I have purchased a few things from MyProtein before.

 

MyProtein is a company that offers healthy, nutritious, gluten free and vegan products. They have a range of products on their website, from supplements to snacks, but most of their products are also a great value.

So, as I mentioned, I have previously purchased form MyProtein before. With regards to bars and snacks, I have tried their vegan protein cookie and their vegan protein bar. I tend to purchase from their vegan section because I try and avoid dairy for my PCOS.

 

I really enjoyed their vegan protein cookie, however, not so much their vegan protein bar. Therefore I was sceptical about trying another one of their bars.

 

However, I decided to give their bars another go. I came across their Organic Raw Bar. This bar is not a protein bar, but as MyProtein advertises it, it is more a 'healthier' alternative to a chocolate bar, which is true. You are better off eating this type of bar which is simply five pure ingredients.

There are two flavours Organic Chocolate and Organic Raspberry and Acai Berry.

 

When it comes to purchasing bars, I like to look at the ingredients. Taking a closer look at these MyProtein Organic Raw Bars, they are made only from 100% certified organic ingredients, with no added sugar, suitable for vegans and gluten free.

 

The main ingredients included in MyProtein's Organic Raw Bars are; Dates*, Cashew Nuts* (32%), Date Syrup*, Cacao* (7%), Raisins* (5%). (*Organic)

 

While dates are high in sugar, research that they have a low Glycemic Index making them great for individuals who need to watch their blood sugar levels, such as women with PCOS.

 

Cashew nuts are rich in “heart-friendly” monounsaturated fatty acids. These essential fatty acids help lower harmful LDL-cholesterol while increasing good HDL cholesterol in the blood.

 

Chocolate has also been shown to offer a whole host of benefits. From increasing insulin sensitivity, reducing stress and the risk of heart disease.

These Organic Raw Bars can be eaten as a snack, for breakfast or on the go.

 

With organic raw bars, you often expect them not to be tasty but these bars! They are soft, a little chewy but really delicious. You could say they are similar to Nakd Bars; they have a similar consistency and texture. When it comes to deciding to repurchase a bar, I not only base my decision on taste, texture etc., I also want to know that if I eat this bar it will satisfy me and keep me satiated. I can confirm that these flapjack bars are filling and very satisfying.

I have only tried the Organic Chocolate Bar, which is I really enjoyed, and I would definitely purchase it again.

 

These bars are great, but I would not eat them every day! They are a great snack or something to have if you are in a rush and want to eat something but avoid snacking on bars every day.
